The question Scumbag Lib Dems are afraid to ask

May 11th, 2007

Think of the Lib Dems (Liberal Democrats) and chances are the words, “alcoholics” and “rent boys”, spring to mind. Another word that can be added to the list is “cowards”.

The Scottish National Party (SNP) won an historic victory in Scotland’s recent election, despite the best efforts of the previous Labour run administration to muddy the results by allowing the scandalous voting system that saw 100,000 spoiled ballot papers to go ahead despite warnings.

The Lib Dems are cowards and they are an insult to every Scottish person eligible to vote.

They are refusing to enter into talks about forming a Coalition Government with the SNP because the Nationalists want to hold a referendum on Scottish Independence. Think about that for a moment - the Liberal Democrats don’t want to ask the Scottish people what they want!

The Lib Dems are mostly an irrelevance in Scottish politics anyway but by refusing to even consider asking the Scottish people whether or not they want Independence from Westminster, they are sowing the seeds of their own destruction as any kind of political force. This will not be forgotten at the next election.

What good can this possibly be doing for the country they purport to represent a proportion of with their 16 seats? A coalition government is one that must compromise to get things done but it can work. A minority administration, the alternative, must fight every step of the way to get anything through the Parliament.

What are the Lib Dems afraid of - the Scottish people actually deciding they want Independence?
