Deny healthcare to the sick - brilliant new moneysaving idea

April 29th, 2007

People in the UK are being denied healthcare … if they are overweight, or smokers. Patients are being denied operations on the NHS simply because they are overweight or smoke, a survey by Sky News has found.

In an excellent new moneysaving move, the NHS has decided to deny healthcare to the sick. Although this is probably a trial run, there are whispers that if they get away with it, the NHS will refuse to treat people they can wriggle out of treating, much like the way insurance companies offering Critical Illness cover often find a loophole to avoid paying on 20% of claims.

Thought to be in the pipeline for refusal of treatment due to lifestyle choice are sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV and AIDS; drink-related Emergency Room incidents or drink-related anything; pregnancies; DIY accidents and road traffic accidents.
